What to Do If Your Bike Is Damaged

What to do after a crash or accident — stop riding, contact your dealer, and how damage protection works.

Accidents happen. If your bike is damaged beyond normal wear and tear — from a crash, a fall, or another incident — here's what to do.

First: don't ride a damaged bike

If the bike sustained significant damage, don't ride it until it's been inspected. Safety comes first. If you can't get it to your dealer on your own, your roadside assistance benefit through Better World Club can help. See Roadside Assistance.

Contact your dealer

Reach out to your dealer and let them know what happened. They'll schedule a time for you to bring the bike in for assessment. Their mechanics will inspect the damage and determine what repairs are needed.

How the protection plan applies

  • Normal wear and tear (brake pads, tires, chain wear, etc.) is covered under your subscription's maintenance benefit at no cost.

  • Accidental damage (crash, fall, impact) falls under your theft and damage protection. The maximum you'll be charged for repairs is $500.

Your dealer will determine whether the damage is routine maintenance or falls under the protection plan.

What to share with your dealer

  • What happened (crash, fall, etc.)

  • When and where it occurred

  • Any photos of the damage

  • Whether the bike is rideable or needs transport

Contact your dealer as soon as possible after any incident. They'll assess the damage and walk you through next steps.
