Any time you leave your bike unattended — even for a quick stop — lock it up. It only takes a moment, and it's the single most effective thing you can do to prevent theft.
How to lock properly
Your dealer will show you proper locking technique during your new bike day walkthrough
Make sure the object you're locking to can't be easily lifted over or unbolted
Keep the lock off the ground — it's harder to break when it's not resting on a surface
Where to park
Choose well-lit, high-traffic areas when possible
Use dedicated bike racks and bike parking areas
Avoid leaving your bike locked in the same spot outdoors for extended periods
If you can bring it inside at home or work, that's always the safest option
