What to Do If Your Bike Is Stolen

Steps to take if your bike is stolen — file a police report, contact your dealer, and how GPS tracking helps with recovery.

What to Do If Your Bike Is Stolen

If your bike is stolen, don't panic. All Friiway subscription bikes are equipped with GPS tracking, so we'll work to recover your bike. Your subscription also includes theft protection, and your maximum out-of-pocket is your $500 security deposit. Here's what to do.

Step 1: Contact your dealer

Reach out to your dealer right away and let them know what happened. They'll coordinate next steps, including working with GPS tracking to attempt recovery.

Be ready to share:

  • When and where the theft occurred

  • Whether the provided lock was in use

Step 2: File a police report

Contact your local police and file a report as soon as possible. Keep the report number and any documentation they provide.

Step 3: What happens next

Your dealer will work with you on next steps for your subscription — whether that's recovering the bike, getting you on a replacement, or making other arrangements.

Important reminders

  • Use your lock. Proper use of the lock provided with your subscription is required for your theft protection to apply. See Your Lock & Security Best Practices.

  • Act quickly. File the police report and contact your dealer as soon as you discover the theft.

  • Document everything. Photos of where the bike was locked, the state of the lock, and anything else that might be relevant.

Contact your dealer as your first step after filing a police report. They'll guide you through the rest.
